Bachelors of Social Work Needed for 90 day assignment.
Description:
- Assist with Hurricane Ian Relief in Naples, FL.
- Lodging and round trip mileage to Naples provided.
- Per diem for days work.
- 12 hour shifts (three 12 hour shifts followed by four 12 hour shifts per week)
Qualifications needed:
1. Master’s Degree in Counseling, Marriage and Family Counseling, or Psychology and one year experience.
or
2. Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field and two years experience
and
3. Licensed as a Counselor in one of the 50 states.
Responsibilities
- Works with individuals, families, and groups to provide outreach, emotional support, individual and group crisis counseling public education, and referrals when needed.
- Represents program in the community and networks with other agencies and partners to ensure needs of survivors are met.
- Provides presentations to community groups or disaster reactions, coping skills, and stress management.
- May use mobile applications to complete data forms.
- Ability to perform the job functions under the supervision of others, while remaining acutely aware of goals, expectations, and deadlines.
- Consults with medical personnel, public authorities, and school districts, as required.
- Maintains accurate and current notes in the Mental Health records, inpatient medical records and electronic medical records of all patients seen, as appropriate, and produces reports of evaluation and/or treatment, as required.
- As requested, develops and implements plans for individual residents and their families.
- Builds relationships and coordinates with community resources for support and potential referral of residents.
- Participates in resident-centric meetings with Case Workers, Shelter Worker Screeners, and other Shelter staff.
- Visit in person with residents to mitigate and ameliorate crises, as well as determine needs and coordinate access to necessary resources with community and national organizations.
- Document meetings and contacts with residents in the record system utilized in support of shelter operations.
- Will perform other duties that might be assigned by the facility or Sterling Medical.
