Certified Medical Assistant

A well-renowned HIV service provider based in Northern NJ is currently seeking Certified Medical Assistants for their clinic in Newark, NJ. This organization has strived to help patients with HIV live full, healthy, and productive lives, while also changing public opinion regarding HIV in the state of New Jersey. This organization is looking for passionate candidates to join them in their mission of providing medical care to afflicted individuals in their community.

The base pay range for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. The actual compensation offered to the successful candidate may vary from posted hiring range based on geographic location, work experience, education, and/or skill level, among other things. Details about eligibility for bonus compensation (if applicable) will be finalized at the time of the offer. *Responsibilities:*
* Escort patients to exam rooms in a timely manner, interview patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart.
* Provide instructions to patients as directed by physician.
* Assist physician in exam rooms.
* Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed and is available in patients’
* medical records prior to their appointment.
* Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilizations as required.
* Maintain an inventory of medical supplies and coordinate with the Clinic Nurse and Provider when inventory is low.
* Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock, placing orders, and verifying receipt.
* Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers
* Maintain and file monthly dated logs sheets of required checks, dates and time
* Maintains medical supplies inventory and performs preventive maintenance
* Perform finger stick (glucose checks) for emergent hypoglycemic or hyperglycemia

*Requirements:*
* New Jersey Medical Assistant Certification
* 2-4 years of HIV/AIDS experience ideal
* Bilingual in English/Spanish
