BPN Staffing Solutions is currently looking for a Surgical Technologist to provide services for a 13-week contract.

Job description

Shifts available:

• Day 4x10-Hour (11:00 - 21:30)

Job Summary:

Applies surgical technology skills to assist in providing patient care in the surgical suite while maintaining a safe work environment and performing all related job

responsibilities. Ensures quality patient care during the operative procedure and is constantly on vigil for maintenance of the sterile field.

Essential Functions:

· Coordinates the multidisciplinary activities required to provide the highest standard of care for the perioperative patient including providing a safe environments for the patient.

· Assists in obtaining and organizing supplies and instruments prior to the surgical procedure.

· Assists Registered Nurse circulator in preparation of patient assembly of supplies instruments and equipment as well as proper disposition of all specimens.

· Performs surgical scrub duties sponge instrument and needle counts according to department policy and procedure.

· Provides the surgeon with appropriate instruments supplies and equipment in a timely manner.

· Monitors and maintains sterility of surgical field and supplies according to departmental policy.

· Assists with all aspects of room turnover and instrument/equipment processing.

· Assists with positioning of the patient according to departmental policy.

· Monitors and documents sterilization activities for completion and accuracy according to departmental policy/guidelines.

Requirements:

• Must have 3 years of experience as a CST
• CST credentials required
• Must have valid BLS (American Heart Association)
• Skills REQUIRED:Must have strong proficiency in Robotics, strong vascular and ophthalmology
• Ortho (2 years of level 1-2 exp - including total joints and trauma), Neuro (2 years of level l-2 exp - including cranis), Gen/Trauma, Vascular, GYN/Uro, Robotics. Must be very comfortable with a busy Level 2 Trauma.
