Charge Nurse (LPN) Full Time positions Days & Afternoons!

*Elmwood Group Homes for MRDD Adults is currently seeking three Full Time Charge Nurse LPNs for our newly created positions on Dayshift, Afternoon shift, and a position that does some mornings and afternoons! The shift times are as follows: 6am-2:30pm, 2pm-10:30pm and 6:30am-9am & 3:30pm-7pm. Each LPN position works during the week and every 3rd weekend, and rotation of holidays. Job responsibilities include:

Renders nursing care to residents. Observes and reports symptoms and conditions to oncoming nurse and the physician as indicated. Takes and records vital signs. Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by the physician and notes responses. Prepares instruments and other equipment and sees that all equipment is properly cleaned and maintained. Assists physician with treatments and rounds as assigned. Calls ambulance and notifies family as necessary. Maintains records reflecting resident’s condition, medication, treatments and responses. Bathes and feeds residents. Makes arrangements for admissions under the supervision of the Director of Nursing. In charge of immediate, complete, and accurate update of resident records in accordance with physician orders and nursing observations. The nurse is responsible for the premises during times when the Owner, CEO/Administrator, Executive Director, Director of Nursing, and/or the Assistant Director of Nursing are not on the premises. Assists in maintaining physical, social, psychological environment, which will be of benefit to the best interest and welfare of the residents. Knowledgeable of current rules and regulations and complies with necessary paperwork. Attends meetings as assigned. Supervises nursing assistants on the shift being worked in the absence of those employees noted above. Reports any discrepancies in quality patient care to the Director of Nursing. Shall closely monitor the implementation of the residents Plans of Care on an on-going basis. Provides occasional nursing services as needed to individuals in the assisted living facility. Any other duties as assigned.

*Responsibility For:* Nursing and personal care of the residents and ensuring that good quality care is provided to all residents. Looks after and provides for the care and welfare of the residents in a clean, cheerful and healthful environment. Supervises nursing assistants to help insure adequacy and cleanliness of the nursing facility and its residents.
