Environmental Quality Assurance Manager/Sr. Chemist (Hybrid/Remote Work)
Toeroek Associates is seeking a senior environmental chemist or scientist to provide technical and management support to challenging projects throughout the United States. Regulatory programs related to the project work include Superfund, Brownfields, RCRA, and state regulatory programs. We are located in Lakewood, Colorado, and this position may consider remote arrangements in GA, VA, MI, IL, KS, TX, NM, CA, and OR.

Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and review Uniform Federal Policy Quality Assurance Project Plans (UFP-QAPPs)
- Perform review of deliverables, data packages, work plans, and standard operating procedures (SOPs)
- Conduct technical reviews and preparing technical reports and other documents on topics associated with data quality/quality assurance
- Manage projects and project teams in technical document reviews and report preparation, which involve successive phases of problem-solving
- Serve as project manager acting as client liaison on technical and project status issues
- Present findings to client, attend meetings with client, facility representatives, and the public
- Provide laboratory oversight for National Environmental Laboratory Accreditation Program (NELAP) accreditation, including review of sample results, review of laboratory methods and procedures
- Oversee all data management and validation per the EPA Guidance on Environmental Data Verification and Validation
Skills
- Understanding of U.S. EPA data validation guidelines and environmental analytical methods
- Ability to follow SOPs
- Experience related to evaluating contaminated site characterization and remediation at contaminated sites, including Superfund, Brownfields, and RCRA Corrective Action sites; strong knowledge of federal and state environmental laws and regulations under federal, state, and other cleanup programs
- Strong technical and problem-solving skills, including attention to detail, accuracy, and completeness, as well as a commitment to producing high-quality deliverables
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Detailed, critical, and thoughtful writing and analysis skills
- Knowledge of or experience in environmental information collection, analysis, interpretation, and report preparation
- Ability to function as a member of a team and work in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to handle multiple tasks at once and meet deadlines, and adapt quickly and smoothly to changing project requirements
- Proficient in Windows-based applications
Required Education/Experience
- Prefer Master's degree in Chemistry or a closely related scientific discipline
- Prefer a minimum of 10 years of experience in QA/QC
Preferred Experience and Credentials
- Experience with PFAS site characterization, fate and transport, and treatment
- Experience with site investigations and remediation, including groundwater, surface water, sediment, soil, and vapor intrusion investigations
- 40-Hour HAZWOPER
This position's target salary hiring range is $90,000 - $120,000 annually, DOQ. This is a good faith and reasonable estimate of the base compensation at the time of posting. Toeroek offers a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, Life, LTD, STD, and 401K.
