Summary:
The Executive Director of Research provides administrative leadership and will be responsible for effective planning, oversight and coordination of research projects within Baptist Health. This position provides support for the expansion of research programs as an integral member of the Baptist Health System; ensures effective coordination of research and monitors the progress and performance of all aspects of the assigned area of responsibility including: responsive interactions with state and federal partners; compliance with regulatory requirements; budgetary oversight including monitoring and tracking projects; grant and contract development and negotiations; and, project reporting. The Executive Director of Research must be able to organize complex projects, provide attention to detail, and communicate effectively. They manage the day-to-day research operations and objectives in support of the assigned projects; contributes information and ideas related to areas of responsibility as part of a variety of teams across all projects; and ensures effective and efficient work-flow and adherence to quality standards for staff/program and self. This position maintains a working knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations and the code of conduct for human research; and works with other groups responsible for information technology support, data management, regulatory compliance and professional development. Other information:
Bachelor's Degree in science related field plus five (5) years of progressive experience in research, including four (4) years of business management and leadership experience. Master's Degree preferred. Grant Certified or within one year of hire. Ability to prioritize projects/schedules with internal and external customers. Working knowledge of Epic, Word, Excel and Google Suite software systems. Ability to present and conduct business in a professional, business, or academic setting. Protocol development and knowledge of common data elements as required for scientific report writing. Knowledge of the Code of Federal Regulations Code of Conduct in Human Research. Working knowledge of State statute, Rules and Regulations related to contracting authority. Knowledge of Grant Rules and Regulations. Knowledge of budgets and contracts. Demonstrates effective communication skills (verbal and written); communicates accurate and complete information. Maintains strict confidentiality when necessary. Demonstrates positive working relationships with co-workers, management team, and ancillary campuses. Demonstrates the Baptist Health Core Values and follows the Basic Code of Conduct Guidelines.

This job will be authorized 80.00 hours bi-weekly.
