Summary :
The Exercise Physiologist assists with assessment, planning, and evaluation of patient care. Provides stress testing and monitored therapeutic exercise sessions, exercise prescription, and individualized lifestyle coaching.
Job Description:
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
1. Evaluates and documents exercise goals and motivations of the patient to design an individualized treatment plan. Evaluates the appropriateness of and modifies, as needed, the treatment plan based on the patient's compliance, signs, symptoms, and physiologic response to the exercise program.
2. Determines the appropriate level of supervision and monitoring needed to provide a safe exercise environment based on risk classification guidelines.
3. Assesses appropriateness of and contraindications to symptom-limited, maximal exercise testing, or other health assessments.
4. Collects and evaluates clinical and health measurements including EKG, spirometry, and blood glucose used for care planning.
5. Selects, administers, and interprets exercise testing.
6. Provides preliminary interpretation of 12 lead EKG to providers.
QUALIFICATIONS:
• Master's degree in exercise physiology or related field
• ACLS, American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS)
• American College of Sports Medicine (ACSM) certification within six months of hire.
