Key Position Details:
- Responsible for healthy and specific stable patient populations to be integrated into the LiveWell Center.
- Responsibilities will involve risk assessment, conducting various physiological assessments, providing interpretation, exercise prescription and exercise training for employees and various at-risk and healthy populations.
- Support primary and secondary prevention initiatives through health promotion programming such as health screenings and well-being events, online and in person educational presentations, delivery of fitness classes.
- Assist with daily fitness center operational duties, provide support to LiveWell Center exercisers and work collaboratively with other team members specializing in nutrition, aftercare, coaching and tobacco cessation fields
- 0.8 FTE (64-hours per 2-week pay period)
- 8-hour day shifts with variable hours between 7am-5pm
- May have occasional evening hours
- No weekends--No major Holidays
Job Description:
Provides services and education for patients in various modalities of cardiology testing and therapies. Care is delivered in collaboration with the physicians and healthcare team. May provide cardiac rehab screening, activity or exercise prescription, and preventative health.
Principle Responsibilities
- Provides assessment of patients, determines and implements plan of care.
- Performs initial evaluation and treatment sessions.
- Monitors progress of patient treatments based on ongoing assessment of tolerance, clinical judgment, and plan of care goals.
- Educates patients and families through group classroom sessions and one on one with patients, including age specific and cultural considerations.
- Monitors patient health statics throughout testing, recognizing abnormal findings and institutes recommended intervention.
- Operates technical equipment to obtain accurate documentation during all procedures.
- May enroll patient in monitoring services.
- May perform stress procedures which include, standard graded exercise test, treadmill echocardiograms, dobutamine stress echo, nuclear graded exercise test, nuclear Lexiscan and Dobutamine stress tests.
- May perform Holter scanning or Arrhythmia monitoring.
- Facilitates and participates in the continuum of patient care.
- Consults with staff, physicians, regarding writing exercise prescriptions.
- Assists with program development and initiatives.
- Maintains equipment.
- Sets up equipment for each procedure.
- Trains and provides in-servicing on all outreach accounts on equipment used, including downloading techniques.
- Trouble shoots outreach accounts equipment or connectivity issues.
- Ensures all outreach accounts have all the supplies necessary for hook ups.
- Orders and stock supplies.
- Maintains equipment in working order and manages repair process.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree exercise physiology or related field
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ Years in cardiac rehabilitation
Licenses/Certifications
- For positions working in Minneapolis Heart Institute or Cardiovascular Rehab departments, must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
• Current ACLS/BLS from the American Heart Association
• Current ACLS/BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house ACLS/BLS training upon hire, by completion of orientation - For positions working in our LiveWell Fitness Center department, must meet at least ONE of the requirements below:
• Current BLS certification from the American Heart Association
• Current BLS certification from the American Red Cross
• Allina in-house BLS-Basic Life Support training upon hire, by completion of orientation
Physical Demands
Medium Work*:
Lifting weight Up to 32 lbs. occasionally (*Allina Safe Patient Moving Policy), Up to 25 lbs. frequently
Pay Range
Pay Range: $27.04 to $37.07 per hour
The pay described reflects the base hiring pay range. Your starting rate would depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable). Shift, weekend and/or other differentials may be available to increase your pay rate for certain shifts or work.
