Housekeeper

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Housekeeper is responsible for ensuring the facility is clean for its patients, staff and visitors.

REPORTS TO:. Facilities Manager

QUALIFICATIONS:
• A high school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years of housekeeping experience, preferably in a hospital or inpatient facility

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Perform routine cleaning of patient rooms, patient care units, offices, clinical areas, waiting areas, lobbies, lounges, rest rooms, corridors, elevators and stairways in a clean, neat and sanitary manner.
• Wash windows, walls, floors, beds, furniture upon patient discharge. Applies clean linen on disinfected patient bed.
• Report any furniture, fixtures, building, equipment repairs required to Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Utilize the appropriate chemicals and supplies according to procedure.
• Use and maintain equipment properly
• Report safety hazards as appropriate.
• Transport trash and hazardous waste to appropriate disposal area.
