The Position

The HR Generalist is vital to our ability to enable this culture by partnering with managers and employees to provide comprehensive Human Resources Services. The main responsibilities include: creation and management of site wellbeing programs and initiatives, recruiting and on boarding new staff, foster employee engagement through a variety of site activities. This position also assists with site communication locally and globally and be a liaison to ensure all employee information is communicated to Novo Nordisk (NN) HR Support services.
Title and pay are commensurate with experience - what's most important is a a passion for leading sustainable and engaging programs for employee well-being and development.
Relationships
Reports to: Manager, HR & partners with the HR team, local leaders and employees.
Essential Functions
- Partner with HR & Talent Acquisition team on all aspects of the recruiting process which includes: creation of open requisition, gaining approvals for offers, screening applicants, coordinating and conducting phone and in-person interviews, scheduling onsite interviews, creating offer packets and processing applicant expenses
- Manage summer intern program: partnering with managers to develop intern positions and projects, recruiting, on boarding, and intern and program management
- Represent NNUSBPI at career and job fairs
- Support new employees once the offer has been accepted including setting up relocation benefits, pre-employment medical screening, new employee set-up, and on boarding
- Reports on on boarding, wellness, and other HR related metrics. Makes recommendations for program enhancements
- Coordinate job shadow and local school visits
- Partner with head of P&O to develop, coordinate, and administer site Wellbeing programs and employee events
- Lead employee engagement group and administer the employee engagement programs.
- Assist with the Communication Partner responsibilities.
- Assist employees with finding the right resources to solve their issues.
- Work with other NN offices to maintain the HRIS systems with accurate information for both applicants and employees
- Ensuring the HRIS information and organizational charts are accurate
- Process employee P&P forms for a variety of activities.
- Backup payroll processing
- Promote a customer-centered culture that emphasizes outstanding service and meets commitments to the organization
- Actively participates in all other Human Resources initiatives and programs as assigned
- Performs all job duties and responsibilities in a compliant and ethical manner and in accordance with all applicable healthcare laws, regulations and industry codes.
- Incorporates the Novo Nordisk Way and 10 Essentials in all activities and interactions with others
Physical Requirements
0-10% overnight travel required. While performing this job employee work involves sitting most of the time with walking and standing required only occasionally. This position may lift up to 10 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. The ability to speak, listen, and understand verbal and written communication.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent related Human Resources experience
- Three (3) years of Human Resources experience
- Excellent organizational, analytical and communication skills (both oral and written) as well as the ability to handle multiple responsibilities in a fast paced environment
- Demonstrate attention to complex details, execution and follow through.
- Must have the ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems/issues by using sound judgment consistent with policies and practices
- Must be able to maintain confidential information and work effectively in a team environment
- Must be able to work effectively with a variety of client groups, build supportive relationships and establish trust and credibility in relating to others
- Expertise with current software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint applications)
