3.0 Position Summary

Provide the scientific and technical expertise in a motivated role under the direction of laboratory management. With strong scientific training and direct working experience. Key responsibilities are highlighted below, but may evolve as the analytical needs of the laboratory

4.0 Minimum Requirements
• Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in chemical or biological sciences (biological sciences degree requires upper level chemistry coursework).
• Some experience with modern analytical instruments Superior computer and written and verbal communication skills.

5.0 Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands
• Refer to Appendix 1 of Section 2.1.2a of the Safety Manual, Medical Evaluations for details on Fit for Duty - Physical Demands for this position.
• The ability to perform all tasks listed is a requirement for this job description

6.0 Responsibilities
• Provide analytical support for acceptance / quality control testing in an accurate and timely manner.
• Perform routine calibration and maintenance of minor equipment.
• Peer review data generated by other Analytical Chemistry personnel.
• Provide training and serve as a technical resource for laboratory assistant and technicians.
• Assist in projects and tasks as may be assigned by Manager (safety, training, audits, etc.)
• Perform lab functions in compliance with ISO and OSHA requirements.
