The Position

Ownership of NNUSBPI Financial processes. Provide leadership & guidance to Finance department. Maintain financial policies & procedures, financial reporting, controlling, budgeting, internal controls, investments and audits. Provide financial support & leadership to the organization in all areas of accounting, finance, Investments & controlling. Continuous improvement of standards to manage financial performance, reduce risk, drive improvements, digitalization & optimize overall costs for NNUSBPI.

Essential Functions

  • Provide leadership, guidance & development to the Finance team
  • Anchor all financial matters concerning analysis & reporting within the finance organization
  • Stakeholder management within NNUSBPI, BRD-DK, PS Finance & other corporate functions
  • Ensure financial compliance including sufficient internal controls & adherence to Sarbanes- Oxley requirements
  • Ensure accurate budgeting for NNUSBPI & compliance with internal & external financial audits
  • Follow up on financial performance & financial KPIs
  • Building & maintaining project controlling expertise within finance
  • Following up on project performance & financial KPIs
  • Developing & continuously improving key internal guidelines, policies, procedures & controls within finance
  • Managing financial analysis, budgets & forecast processes & driving financial target setting in Site New Hampshire & delivering internal & external financial results
  • Continuous improvement of finance & procurement processes including the evaluation of expanding the collaboration with GSC Bangalore
  • Ensure transparent, accurate and timely delivery of site specific Balanced Scorecard
  • Ensure high automation and digitalization of financial processes
  • Work closely with Procurement in order to develop effective and compliant Procure to Pay process
  • Realize and track cost and procurement savings in close cooperation with Procurement
  • Responsible for local Tax and Treasury
  • Coordinate and drive annual Board of Directors meeting
  • Decision support to the Site Senior Leadership Team
  • Ad hoc reporting: Creating, developing, presenting & improving reports, as needed.
  • Hire, train, develop and coach team members
  • Align individual performance expectations with organizational goals
  • Develop and communicate performance goals collaboratively with direct reports
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Physical Requirements

Able to travel domestically or internationally, up to 10% of the time. Occasionally moves equipment and/or supplies weighing up to 30 pounds within the facility. Constantly operates a computer & other office equipment using hands. Able to work in an open office environment with the possibility of frequent distraction. Able to adjust schedule to work with colleagues in other international time zones.

 

Development of People

Supervisory, ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.

 

Qualifications

  • Education and Certifications:
    • BA/BS in finance or accounting is required (MA/MS preferred)
    • CPA Certification and/or MBA strongly preferred
  • Work Experience:
    • 8 years of progressively responsible experience in Finance or Business Controlling
    • Previous management experience or leadership development training a must
    • Knowledge in Finance regulations (GAAP, IFRS, IRS) preferred
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Experience with tools for financial analysis required
    • Corporate controlling experience preferred
    • Investment Project experience preferred
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
    • Makes data-driven decisions that align with the triple bottom line
    • Leads employees to effectively adopt and integrate change within and across functions
    • Knowledge of business processes in manufacturing & operations
    • Proficiency in preparing charts, graphs & presentations
    • Strong process improvement, systematic troubleshooting & problem-solving skills.
    • Supervisory experience
    • Able to plan, coordinate & prioritize activities in order to ensure optimal use of resources in the department
    • Able to develop & manage action plans to achieve targets & handle multiple task simultaneously
