Provides basic patient care which includes performing routine office procedures, administration of medications, testing and participating in patient education. Performs clinical duties in keeping with established policies and procedures assists physician. Keeps an accurate and concise record of patient observations, treatments and procedures administered; documents findings in the medical record. Assists in the assessment of patient's response to treatment relative to identifying common and recurring needs of the patient.
Education
Completion of Medical Assisting Program - Preferred
Bachelor's of Science (in a lab-based science discipline) - Preferred
Experience
1 Year Physicians practice or ambulatory care setting - Required
Additional Experience Information - 2+ years of relevant MA experience will be accepted in lieu of education/certification
License & Certification
Certified Clinical Medical Assistant - Preferred
Basic Life Support (BLS) - Preferred

Identifies patient education needs and may assist in patient teaching as to appropriate health maintenance and management of illness. Communicates effectively with patients, families, and other members of the health care team.
Comprehensive review of the patient's medical history is performed and documented. Consults with other medical professional and physicians when needed.
Interviews patients to obtain and record medical history, basic health information, and medication adherence.
Assists patient and families to understand, accept and follow medical recommendations and provide service planned to restore patients to optimum social and health adjustment within their capacity. Displays a caring manner to all personal contact and willingly assists other staff members and patient requests. Demonstrates ability to work effectively with variety of age groups and disabilities.
