Medical Surgical Nurse (MedSurg) - Alaska

Job Title: Medical Surgical Nurse (MedSurg)

Job Location: Alaska

Type of Facility: Critical Access Facility

Length of Assignment: 13 Weeks

Start Date: Mid March

Work Schedule: 12 hour night shifts (7p - 7a) for 3 nights per week (blocked schedule)

Roles and Responsibilities:

- Provide care for low-acuity patients in a MedSurg unit

- Monitor vital signs and administer medications

- Work collaboratively with a team of 3 other RNs

- Maintain a patient ratio of 3:1

- Care for patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric age groups

- Manage behavioral health patients

- Utilize Epic EMR system

- Adapt to a low census volume environment

Requirements:

- Minimum 1 year of experience in MedSurg nursing

- BLS certification required

- Active Alaska nursing license
