We have an outstanding opportunity for a Critical Care physician with Cardiovascular ICU experience to work in the Cardiac Surgery ICU at MedStar Washington Hospital Center, including the MedStar Heart and Vascular Institute.

This opportunity will allow you to join a well-established heart and vascular program that involves great collaboration with surgeons, intensivists, cardiologists, and other specialists. There is also strong APP support on the team. There is a pathway for training and credentialing in TEE, IABP insertion, CSU-ALS, and ECMO Cannulation.

Standard shift expectations: full-time position includes 146 shifts per year. Day shift schedule is 7:30 am - 5:00 pm. Night shift schedule is 4:00 pm - 8:00 am.

Team consists of 6 physicians during daytime and 2 physicians during nighttime.

Clinical responsibilities: include multidisciplinary rounding within our intensive care units, triage, new patient admissions, and standard critical care procedures. During non-clinical weeks, providers are encouraged to participate in departmental activities (quality and process improvement, updates to clinical practice, medical education, etc).

Requirements: Valid DC medical license or ability to obtain DC license, board certification in Critical Care Medicine through either American Board of Internal Medicine, American College of Surgeons, or the American Board of Anesthesia. Cardiac Critical Care experience is also required.
