Medical Lab Tech (MLT or MT)
Analyzes various laboratory procedures to obtain data for physicians to use in diagnosis and treatment of diseases. May be called upon to draw blood on patients of all ages, from neonate to elderly; knows the importance of age-specific needs as defined in the age-specific competency checklist.
Requirements: Certification as a Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) or Medical Technologist (MT) by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP), AMT (American Medical Technologists) or AAB (American Associations of Bioanalysis) or equivalent.
