Nuclear Medicine Technologist - (Nuclear Med Tech)

Pay Rate: $1876.22 - $2055.86
Must have 2+ references in the last 12 months of employment by a Charge Nurse, Manager, Director, or Supervisor, no gaps of 30+ days in work history, and a recent Skills Checklist IN ORDER TO BE SUBMITTED. Nuc Med Tech with 2+ years of experience needed for solo NM tech position. 90% cardiac vs. general nuclear studies. Manages the daily operations of the CENTRA Southside Community Hospitals Nuclear Lab. Equipment: GE Discovery and Toshiba-Siemens Ecam. Current VA license, ARRT(N) or NMTCB Cert, and BLS(AHA) are required at submission. Centra accepts approved declinations for Covid/Flu vaccines. All RTO must be included at submission or will be declined. 60 mile radius rule.
Tech Prepares and administers radiopharmaceuticals or radioactive material intravenously or orally to detect or treat diseases, using radioisotope equipment, under direction of a Radiologist.Detects and maps radiopharmaceuticals in patients bodies, using a gamma camera to produce images. Produces a computer[1]generated for interpretation by a physician. Calculates, measures, and records radiation dosage or radiopharmaceuticals received, used, and disposed, following physicians prescription. Performs quality control checks on laboratory equipment or cameras. Maintains and calibrates radioisotope and laboratory equipment. Disposes of radioactive materials and store radiopharmaceuticals, following radiation safety procedures .Processes general nuclear medicine images and cardiac stress tests. Prepares radiopharmaceuticals, adhering to safety standards that minimize radiation exposure to workers and patients. Records and processes results of procedures. Explains all aspects of procedure to patients and keeps patients and families informed of radiation safety precautions, waiting times and progress of procedure as necessary.

Certifications(At least one of the following): N-American Registry of Radiologic Technologists(Copy needed), N-Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board(Copy needed)
