Nurse Research Scientist - Nursing Administration
Under administrative supervision of the Director of Nursing Excellence, and in partnership and collaboration with the Tampa General Hospital Office of Clinical Research, the Nursing Research Scientist provides leadership, assistance, support and mentorship in the development, implementation, evaluation, enhancement, and maintenance of a comprehensive nursing research program which would enhance the quality and outcomes of nursing care at TGH. This role stimulates, promotes, and develops nursing research interests and develops a progressive strategic vision for nursing research with short- and long-term goals and engages others in that vision. The Nursing Research Scientist identifies nursing practice issues requiring investigation, collaborates with other health team members, secures research funding, and disseminates nursing research findings internally and externally. This role is accountable to facilitate nursing professional development in research activities through the support of various nursing initiatives and ongoing collaboration with clinical education, organizational and nursing leadership, and academic institutions.
Qualifications
Graduated from a nursing credited program with an active RN license to practice in the State of Florida, Required.
3-5 years nursing research experience as an investigator and disseminating research finding
3-5 years of leadership experience Grant writing/management experience.
Ability to disseminate scholarly works via publications and oral presentation
Ability to write grant
Proficiency in using computers, software, and web-based application
Leadership skill
Effective verbal and written communication skills and ability to present information clearly and
professionally to varying levels of individuals internal and external to the organization
Develop, communicate, and monitor performance metrics for nursing research
