The Oncology Research Nurse (ORN) is an integral part of the Cancer Center Team. The ORN is responsible for identifying and enrolling eligible patients in research trials. Through collaboration with the multidisciplinary team, the ORN works with patients and families to provide access to novel opportunities. We are looking for a dedicated, passionate nurse to join our expanding team. This is a grant-funded position that will extend into 2027, with the intention of seeking permanent and/or additional grant-funding past that date, as available.
Key Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develops and implements methods for identifying and entering patients/participants to IRB approved trials.
- Monitors study progress to assure compliance with protocol requirements, HIPAA, Good Clinical Practice and if required, FDA regulations by regular communication with and conducting site visits to participating physician offices.
- Facilitates communication between internal and external project personnel to ensure efficient operations through a proactive team environment.
- Educates patients and families about protocol and informed consent process.

What We Require for this Role:
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) required or in pursuit of
Related Work Experience
- Minimum of three years' oncology experience, including clinical research experience. (Preferred)
- Experience in phlebotomy, including use of ports and administration of IV and oral medications.
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIREMENT
- OCN Certification preferred; must take and pass the OCN test within two years of employment
- Active NJ RN license required
