Position: *Full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA)* at EPIC PT at the Pickles and Play Chapel Hill Location
Reports to: Clinical Director(s)
Setting: Outpatient orthopedic Sports Performance
*EPIC PT is a fun family owned sports performance outpatient physical therapy clinic. We have expanded to Clayton and South Raleigh areas. We have 1-on-1 hour long appointments which we find is best for the patients and the work life balance of our clinicians, which is important to us! *Qualifications:*
* New graduate or experienced PTA with Associates Degree from an accredited physical therapist assistant program approved by the APTA
* Currently licensed in the state of North Carolina
*Physical Demands:*
Requires manual dexterity, general strength and endurance:
* Lifting: 5-35# pounds routinely
* From floor to waist, waist to shoulder, shoulder to overhead
* Carrying: 5-15# routinely, throughout the clinic
* Pushing: 5-50# routinely, throughout the clinic
* Sustaining grip: 40-50# for bouts of 1-2 minutes
* Able to guard a load of at least 120#
* Able to work standing on feet intermittently, for up to 10 hours
*Essential Job Functions:*
* Manage caseload and provide physical therapy services under direct supervision of a physical therapist for a total patient contact time of 40 hours/week. Carry out plan of care based on physical therapist evaluation findings
* Provide interventions and treatment techniques to promote the ability to move, improve strength, reduce pain, restore function and reduce activity limitations
* Adequately progress patients with prescribed exercises or manual therapy techniques
* Discuss any needed adjustments of plan of care with supervising therapist
* Identify patient’s needs and exhibit compassion, caring, and empathy with respect to individual patient differences
* Instruct patients in-home exercise programs, transfer training, positioning, safety issues, etc.
* Document date, time and treatment applied at each session objectively in electronic documentation system
* Document patient progress according to practice standards in EMR (WebPT)
* Adhere to all HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality and recordkeeping
* Maintain professional and technical knowledge through attending educational workshops; reviewing professional publications, specialized training etc.
* Perform tasks throughout the clinic which enhance workplace environment and productivity, including: restocking supplies, cleaning tables, folding laundry, moving equipment, etc.
* Cleans/sterilizes equipment and supplies and delivers them to the treatment area; positioning equipment for therapist access; positioning patient on equipment as appropriate.
* Ensures operation of physical therapy equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements; following manufacturer's instruction; calling for repairs as needed.
* An active participant with EPIC PT community involvement, understanding this may increase working hours outside 40 hours/week.
* Participates in monthly in-service meetings to educate peers and promote the field of physical therapy.

Has been determined as eligible for access to/use of PHI and EPHI based on work duties and responsibilities in compliance with ‘minimal necessary standards.
