Job Summary:
A Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to help patients recover from injuries, surgeries, or illnesses. They assist in implementing treatment plans, guiding patients through exercises, and providing hands-on therapy to improve mobility, strength, and overall function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist patients with prescribed exercises and therapeutic activities
- Monitor and document patient progress and report to the Physical Therapist
- Educate patients and families on home exercises and mobility techniques
- Use therapeutic equipment and modalities as directed
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for patient rehabilitation
Qualifications:
- Associate degree from an accredited PTA program
- State licensure or certification as required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to assist with physical tasks and provide hands-on care
