Physician Assistant - CT Surgery
This Advanced Practice Professional (Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner Certified as a Registered Nurse First Assist) is responsible for the comprehensive care of our vascular surgical patients per established clinical protocols. Evaluates and assesses vascular surgical patients, coordinates education and plan of care in both the inpatient and outpatient setting. Provides first assist of the surgeon in the operating room. Works in collaboration and is a liaison between patients, families, physicians and health care services and community service providers. Manages the collection, analysis and reporting of patient data and develops plan of care. The advanced practice professional works under the supervision of the physician.
Minimum Education Requirement: Graduate of an accreditation review commission on the Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) approved Physician Assistant training program.
OR
Completion Graduate of a master's prepared Nurse Practitioner program. Completion of a RNFA program that meets the Association of PeriOperative Room Nurses (AORN) educational standards.
Minimum Experience Requirement: Previous vascular, surgical or acute care advanced practice experience strongly preferred.
Minimum License Requirement: Current license as a Physician Assistant by the WV Board of Medicine with a certification by the National Commission for Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA).
OR
Current license as a Nurse Practitioner from the West Virginia Board of Nursing. Certification by the American Nurse Credentialing Center (ANCC) or American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). Certification in perioperative nurse (CNOR) required.
Must be credentialed according to Mon Health's Medical Staff By-Laws and appointed as Allied Health Professional Affiliate Staff. Must possess or obtain basic life support (BLS) certification within the probationary period and maintain certification. Must possess or obtain advanced cardiac life support (ACLS) within one year of employment start and maintain certification.
Physical Requirements and Environmental Conditions: Heavy Work; Frequent lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 lbs. with a maximum lifting of 100 lbs
