Physician Relationships Assistant (F/T) - Reidsville, GA

Optim Health System is seeking a full time Physician Relationships Assistant. This is a travel position through the Southeast Region. The ideal candidate would live near Reidsville, Vidalia or Dublin.

General Summary: The physician relationships assistant is responsible for assisting the Physician Relationships Manager (PRM) in promoting core and specialty services to the physician/hospital community. This position provides support services in all functional areas of sales including the utilization of affiliate services, cultivating and strengthening referral activities by implementing and promoting professional services.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

1. Study target markets identified by the physician relationships manager / leadership in accordance with organizational strategy utilizing familiarity with operations and existing reporting and tools.

2. Under the guidance of the physician relationships manager, learn market utilization data and market demographics, including market share data for primary or secondary facility service lines, ensuring that sales priorities are identified for both physicians and patient populations.

3. Learn current physician referral patterns, trends, and financial margins, assisting to ensure that sales resources are optimized.

4. Assist the PRM in obtaining strategic goals of sales and retention in targeted markets and facility service lines.

4. Conduct pre and post call planning and maintaining.

5. Assist the PRM in facilitating the retention of physician, referring hospital and community relationships.

6. Schedule face-to-face sales meetings for the PRM with physicians, schedulers, practice managers, and medical staff from referring hospitals/practices to ensure understanding, as well as to close business, ensuring that obstacles are identified and minimized.

7. Effectively assist in territory, conducting office visits to include:

a. Distributing Education materials on services offered, enhancement and new advances.

b. Maintaining image (community-centered, patient-first, leading-edge provider)

c. Offering excellent customer service

d. Communicating opportunities, market trends, and issues to PRM in a timely manner

8. Assists PRM in increasing referral percentages/volume and expand services utilized

9. Communicate daily market intel and challenges to PRM.

10. Assist in coordinating meetings between key staff, physician groups, and external customer groups to improve communication and relationships in order to increase referrals or resolve customer service issues.

Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, business, or health administration.

Experience: Minimum one years of sales experience in sales, marketing, public relations in the health care industry. Healthcare/ surgical background preferred.

Other Requirements: Clean driving record.

Performance Requirements:

Knowledge:

1. Knowledge of concepts of marketing including market research, product development, marketing communications, selling, and public relations.

2. Knowledge of health care reimbursement, including all aspects of managed care payment practices and worker's compensation.

Skills:

1. Skill in developing and implementing marketing presentations.

2. Skill in developing and conducting needs analysis and satisfaction surveys.

Abilities:

1. Ability to read and interpret payer contracts.

2. Ability to organize and analyze information and present alternatives.

3. Ability to communicate effectively and respond positively to payers/customers as well as internal staff.

4. Ability to utilize basic medical and managed care terminology.

Equipment Operated: Standard office equipment including computers, fax machines, copiers, printers, telephones, etc.

Work Environment: Position is in a well-lighted office environment. Occasional evening and weekend work. Frequent visits to potential customers.

Mental/Physical Requirements: Involves sitting approximately 90 percent of the day, walking or standing the remainder. Lifting , carrying for marketing events.
