Psychotherapist

Job Summary

Provides psycho-social assessments, individual, and group psychotherapy on assigned patients. Offers family support and education. Demonstrates ability to provide psychotherapy services in an outpatient setting and ability to refer to ongoing services upon completion of treatment plan goals.

Essential Functions

  • Conducts biopsychosocial assessments as well as evidence-based tools as required for information gathering and diagnosis.
  • Displays theoretical knowledge of mental illness and substance-use disorders.
  • Provides individual psychotherapy and psychoeducational group therapy for adult patients in an outpatient setting.
  • Provide clinically appropriate treatment based on mental health assessments and treatment plans.
  • Knows the symptoms of abuse and identifies victims to provide appropriate counsel and/or referrals.
  • Participates in and attends multidisciplinary treatment team and staff meetings as scheduled.
  • Provides information gathered from patients during group or individual therapy.
  • Discusses patient's level of functioning, symptoms and medication.
  • Advocates for appropriate discharge for patients.
  • Create an individualized, patient centered, treatment plan in conjunction with the patient, family members or community partners.
  • Documents all interactions with patients in a timely, accurate, and professional manner.
  • Provides crisis and behavioral intervention.
  • Engages in weekly clinical supervision.
  • Participate in staff development opportunities to enhance professional growth, especially to maintain license, certification, or identified program performance skills.

Minimum Education/Certifications

Master's in social work preferred

Requires a minimum of a LSW, LPC and/or LAC.

Licensed social worker or licensed clinical social worker pending board approval will be considered.

Minimum Work Experience
2 years' experience in behavioral health including internship

Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: Monday through Friday; some telehealth services may need to be provided
