RN Charge
- JOB SUMMARY
- The RN Charge Nurse will demonstrate competency in the role of clinical charge nurse with responsibilities for delegation of assignments for patient care, communication with physicians, and problem solving/decision making. Supervises RN's, LPN's, PCT's and Unit Secretaries. Works in conjunction with Dietary, EVS, and other ancillalry departments.
- DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Demonstrates Competency in the Following Areas:
- Education/Regulatory Requirements:
- Current MS state nursing license.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certificate.
- Current ACLS certification OR obtain within six months of hire.
- One - three years work experience in department-specific area.
- Skills:
- Precepts other charge nurses to the position as needed.
- National certification in the area of specialty is encouraged.
- Senior charge nurse may be requested to act as head nurse in the absence of head nurse.
