Senior Speech Language Pathologist
GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for speech therapy services administered to inpatients and outpatients who have speech, language, voice, cognitive, or swallowing disorders. Services will cover both the evaluative and therapeutic aspects. All services will be consistent with Medical Center and Rehabilitation Department operating objectives.QUALIFICATIONS: Education/Skills Required:1.Graduate of an approved ASHA curriculum; Possess certification of clinical competence, Speech Language Pathology; Possess current New York State Speech Pathologist license2.Minimum of four years of Speech Language Pathologist experience3.Ability to physically treat inpatients or outpatients and complete accurate and legible documentation as per established guidelines.4.Ability to qualitatively evaluate and treat all age groups and diagnostic catecories in both an inpatient and out patient setting.5.Ability to communicate effectively to patients regarding the anticipated treatment plan, level of patient's expected participation, and expected outcome 6.Ability to relate to the public and medical/CVPH staff as a member of rehabilitation teamAs applicable, the individual has training/competency in attending to the special needs and/or behaviors appropriate to the age of the patients for which care is being provided.
