This position within the EA organization manages work that is central to the transformation and optimization of enterprise IT landscapes. You will lead the planning and execution of project work, as well as work cross-functionally with other project teams, to deliver strategic initiatives, ensure alignment with enterprise architecture standards, and help establish scalable solutions across IT. This position requires creativity and flexibility to effectively balance shifting priorities with commitments to get work done. Contribute to continuous improvement activities with expertise in leading project execution.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- 6-10 years' experience as a Project Manager or Scrum Master.
- Certification in project management such as PMP or Scaled Agile Framework, along with real-life experience applying the techniques.
- Demonstrate a solid understanding of software development life cycle models as well as expert knowledge of both Agile and traditional project management principles and practices with the ability to blend them together in the right proportions to fit a project and business environment.
- Communication: ability to craft a message to communicate project accomplishments, status, risks and issues, and mitigation plans.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities, proactively escalating issues that cannot be resolved within the project team.
- Hands-on experience using project management tools such as Jira for large scale project planning and managing backlogs.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Administration: Lead the end-to-end execution of assigned projects, ensuring that objectives, timelines, and budgets are met. Manage backlogs, work prioritization, and deadlines using agile planning techniques. Schedule and facilitate project ceremonies for a senior-level EA team that does not typically deliver working code or post timecards.
- Stakeholder Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for project sponsors, business owners, and other key stakeholders, providing regular progress updates, risk management, and issue resolution. Work toward enterprise goals, using influence rather than control, and fostering a work environment based on trust, sharing and collaboration.
- Resource Management: Coordinate cross-functional project teams who regularly participate in more than one assignment at a time. Monitor commitment to deliver to proactively communicate related delays and negotiate work prioritization to keep projects on track.
- Change Management: Coordinate work efforts with Change Managers. Incorporate the development and execution of change management activities into the broader project plan.
- Scrum Master: Coach team members on agile ways of working while guiding the team toward high-performance behaviors
- Product Owner Support: Assist the Product Owner in managing the product backlog and prioritizing tasks effectively. Ensure Epics and Stories are well-defined and right-sized with clear acceptance criteria as part of ongoing backlog grooming.
