Staff Nurse

  • Position Summary

    • Utilizing the Nursing Process of assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating, the Staff Registered Nurse is responsible for delivery of patient care; managing assigned personnel, and Promoting collaboration among the multi-disciplinary health care team. Maintains open communication and is available to component organizations and practitioners sites for consultation
  • Education

    • Associate Degree in Nursing - Required
  • Experience

    • 1-2 Years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care - Required
    • 2 years Medical/Surgical and/or Critical Care in a hospital within the last five years preferred.
  • License & Certification

    • Registered Nursing License with State of Practice - Required
    • Basic Life Support (BLS) - Required
  • Core Job Functions

    • Collects and assesses patient data in an effort to provide a safe environment for the patient during their perioperative experience.
    • Calls patients the night before surgery to provide arrival times and answer questions. Gives preoperative instructions.
    • Anticipates the need for surgical patient based on the patient assessment, procedure performed and physician preference.
    • Provides excellent patient care. Keeps family informed. Rounds on team and assists as needed.
    • Takes initiative to review unit/departmental customer or co-worker satisfaction scores as posted in unit. Promotes measures to improve customer/co-worker satisfaction scores. Consistently demonstrates behaviors that promote excellent patient experiences.
    • Participates in service planning and development using knowledge of industry trends. Takes administrative call. Supports change initiatives. Keeps manager informed of department activities. Takes administrative call.
