Staff Retail Pharmacist - Varied Shifts, Part Time
Under the general direction of the Pharmacy Manager, work autonomously to provide comprehensive pharmaceutical services. Assure quality and appropriateness of outpatient services; effectively utilize technical support. Maintain a positive relationship with physicians, patients, all other health care providers, and staff. Ensure that outpatient services are compliant with State and Federal laws and rules. Work with the pharmacy team to provide high quality patient care. Be attentive and responsive to the needs of patients. Demonstrate excellent communication skills. Represent the department in a positive manner. Cultivate a patient oriented service. Lead by example by modeling professional behavior. Ensure patient satisfaction by addressing patient questions and concerns effectively. Effectively utilize and supervise technicians to maintain an accurate and efficient outpatient pharmacy system. Re-direct staff when necessary to ensure that service performance metrics goals are met. Anticipate and solve patient problems as they arise. For example, use the employee formulary to change drug therapy with prescriber approval when appropriate. Inspect the packaging, preparation, and labeling of prescription medication performed by technicians and correct when needed prior to dispensation or delivery of the medication. Counsel patients and/or their caregivers an all first use prescriptions (and as needed thereafter) regarding appropriate administration of medication, interactions, side effects, and other information as appropriate. Contact providers when there appears to be a possibility of unsafe or inappropriate use of a medication due to factors including, but not limited to, the following: allergy, medical condition, drug interactions, dosing, method of administration. Answer questions from medical professionals regarding drug therapy and drug products. Monitor ongoing medication therapy and collaborate with prescribers as needed regarding patient compliance and outcomes of therapy. Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy. NH Pharmacist license. Pharm D preferred.
