SURGICAL TECHNICIAN I
Description:
Actively participate in nursing reports by receiving and contributing to status reports of patient
Consult with surgeons for needed supplies, instruments and/or equipment for specific cases
Ensure proper maintenance, care, and cleanliness of instruments, supplies, and equipment
Function in a scrub position during C-sections
Assist with circulating duties
Assist with end of case room clean-up
Respond immediately when called upon for additional or emergency situations
Complete Unit Secretary and patient care duties when not functioning in a scrub tech capacity
Routinely take and record all assigned vital signs
Provide complete and thorough personal care for patient
Assist with transport of patients
Function as a preceptor for surgical tech students and newly employed techs as needed
Education/Experience:
Graduate of accredited school of Surgical Technology
Successful completion of Surgical Technology certification exam
Certified in Basic Life Support
Position may involve on call - must be able to respond to emergency cases within 20 minutes
