Trauma Surgery Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant - Per Diem

We are seeking a dedicated Per-Diem Trauma Surgery Advanced Practice
Provider (APP) to join our team in El Paso, Texas. This position offers a
unique opportunity to work in a collaborative, high-acuity environment,
providing exceptional trauma care to our patients.  In this role, you will provide comprehensive
trauma care, including initial assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up.
You will assist in surgical procedures and manage post-operative care.
Collaboration with attending surgeons, hospital staff, and other healthcare
professionals is essential to ensure optimal patient outcomes. Responsibilities
also include performing rounds, documenting patient progress, updating
treatment plans as needed, and responding to trauma alerts while participating
in the trauma call schedule. Educating patients and their families on surgical
procedures, post-operative care, and recovery processes will also be part of
your duties. Additionally, you will participate in quality improvement
initiatives and stay current with best practices in trauma surgery.

Requirements:

 

  • Current and
    unrestricted licensure as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant
    (PA) in the state of Texas.
  • Certification
    as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (ACNP) or Physician
    Assistant-Certified (PA-C).
  • Advanced
    Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2
    years of experience in trauma surgery or a related surgical specialty.
  • Strong
    clinical skills with the ability to work independently and make informed
    decisions.
  • Excellent
    communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to
    work effectively in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Commitment to
    providing compassionate, patient-centered care.
