Travel Body and Neuro Interventional Radiology Technologist
Position Summary:
The Body and Neuro Interventional Radiology (IR) Technologist assists physicians in performing complex, minimally invasive image-guided procedures involving the body and neurovascular systems. This includes the operation of advanced imaging equipment, ensuring the sterile setup of procedures, and providing patient care during procedures such as biopsies, embolizations, spinal injections, and neurovascular interventions.
Key Responsibilities:

Procedure Assistance:
- Assist interventional radiologists in body and neuro interventional procedures, including but not limited to embolization, neurothrombectomy, spinal injections, tumor ablations, and biopsies.
- Operate specialized imaging equipment such as fluoroscopy, digital subtraction angiography (DSA), and CT scanners during procedures.
- Ensure patient positioning to achieve optimal imaging and procedural outcomes.

Patient Care:
- Prepare patients for procedures by explaining the process, positioning them correctly, and maintaining patient comfort throughout the procedure.
- Monitor and record vital signs before, during, and after the procedure.
- Ensure radiation safety for patients, team members, and yourself by following ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) protocols.

Imaging Equipment Operation & Maintenance:
- Perform advanced imaging during neuro and body procedures, ensuring the production of high-quality diagnostic images for guiding interventions.
- Operate and troubleshoot radiology equipment, including fluoroscopy, CT, MRI, and angiography systems.
- Maintain cleanliness, calibration, and proper functioning of all imaging equipment.

Sterile Technique & Infection Control:
- Maintain a sterile field during all interventional procedures, including the proper setup of sterile trays, instruments, and devices.
- Follow hospital and department protocols for infection control and sterile techniques.
- Assist in the preparation and organization of instruments and medical devices.

Documentation & Record Keeping:
- Document procedure details in the electronic medical record (EMR), including patient positioning, technical factors, and images acquired.
- Ensure all relevant images are stored correctly in the PACS system and can be accessed for diagnosis and review.
- Track and manage inventory of sterile supplies, contrast media, catheters, and other consumables used in interventional procedures.

Collaboration & Teamwork:
- Work closely with radiologists, nurses, anesthesiologists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver high-quality patient care during complex body and neuro IR procedures.
- Participate in training and mentoring new technologists or students in body and neuro interventional radiology techniques.
Required Qualifications:

Education:

Completion of an accredited radiologic technology program.

Licensure/Certification:
- Active ARRT (American Registry of Radiologic Technologists) certification in Radiography.
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification is required

Experience:
- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in interventional radiology, neuro-intervention experience preferred.
- Siemens equipment experience: Icono Biplane & ARTIS Pheno
