Ultrasound Tech
BASIC FUNCTION: Performs diagnostic sonographic examinations utilizing ultrasonic equipment to locate, evaluate and record critical functional, pathological, and anatomical data for use by physicians in diagnosis.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Schedules and coordinates tests, records test results, and prepares and maintains operational logs.
- Calibrates and maintains equipment and orders supplies when needed.
- Performs general ultrasound including OBGYN, breast, Vascular, Small Parts, Abdomen, Testicular, Thyroid, and procedures etc.
- Responsible for patient safety protocols.
- Functions as the first line interface with patients in the successful accomplishment of their imaging needs.
- Participates actively in Performance Improvement, Radiation Safety, Patient Satisfaction, Radiological Patient and Physician Education, Continuous Quality Improvement, and other various committees as assigned.
- Performs a variety of tasks and other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Credentialed in ultrasound ARDMS or ARRT(S) required.
- Experience in OBGYN, Abdomen, Vascular, Breast and Small Parts preferred.
- Must have current BLS card within 3 months of initial employment
- Prefer one year of professional Ultrasound experience in a hospital patient care setting. Minimum 18 years of age.
SALARY INFORMATION:
- $33.56 - $59.45 Dependent on experience may vary outside this range
- Additional $2.00 - $4.00 an hour for additional weekend and night shifts
- 10% differential in addition to base rate salary
- Compensation may vary outside this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience
