YouthBuild Construction & Leadership Trainer

Job Overview: Are you passionate about empowering young adults while contributing to affordable housing development in Nevada? Join us as the YouthBuild Construction & Training Supervisor, where you will oversee the renovation, rehabilitation, and construction of affordable housing units, while leading hands-on construction training for young adults. In this role, you'll ensure program excellence, safety, and skill-building on the worksite while guiding trainees in both technical and leadership development. Your work will directly impact communities and support Nevada's future leaders!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise on-site construction training to ensure consistent, safe, and high-quality skills development for trainees.
  • Teach and mentor young adults in demolition, framing, roofing, drywall, and finish carpentry, promoting leadership and teamwork.
  • Create and implement detailed construction schedules, coordinating the progress and quality of all work.
  • Manage construction budgets, bidding processes, subcontractor coordination, and material orders.
  • Ensure safety compliance, proper tool use, and best construction practices at the job site.
  • Collaborate with educational instructors and construction partners to provide holistic learning experiences for trainees.
  • Oversee the evaluation of trainee skills and ensure progress is tracked through daily reports and safety checklists.
  • Participate in community service projects and work collaboratively with program staff to deliver the best experience for trainees.


Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • Valid Nevada driver's license.
  • OSHA 30 Certification, with willingness to obtain construction certifications (HBI PACT, NCCER, or equivalent).
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in project management, administration, or planning in a community-based setting.
  • Proven leadership skills and a passion for youth empowerment.
  • Ability to create partnerships and work collaboratively with community organizations and public agencies.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Commitment to safety and adherence to all relevant regulations.
